چکیده
Providing sustainable water supply for domestic needs and irrigated agriculture is one of the most significant challenges current century. This challenge more daunting in coastal regions. Groundwater plays a pivotal role addressing this hence, it under growing stress several parts world. To address challenge, proper understanding groundwater characteristics an area essential. In study, spatio-temporal analyses pre-monsoon post-monsoon levels two aquifer systems (upper leaky confined underlying confined) were carried out Purba Medinipur District, West Bengal, India. Trend analysis seasonal aquifers was also performed using Mann-Kendall test, Linear Regression Innovative test. Finally, status seawater intrusion evaluated available groundwater-quality data Chloride (Cl−) Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). Considerable spatial temporal variability found aquifers. Further, decreasing trends spotted groundwater-level time series aquifers, except Contai-I Deshpran blocks, level Ramnagar-I block aquifer. The Contai-I, Contai-III, blocks Nandigram-I Nandigram-II are vulnerable to intrusion. There urgent need real-time monitoring quality both systems, which can ensure efficient management reserves.

Coastal Erosion Due to Seawater Intrusion into Groundwater Aquifers
Problem Statement: In general, the drinking water systems sourced from ground water (GW) contains chemicals at double the current maximum contaminant levels (MCL) of colloids. However, due to increasing demand of water, groundwater may be subjected to over-exploitation and the natural equilibrium is thus disturbed. A steady-state condition is established between seawater and freshwater in a coa...

Management of groundwater resources involves the allocation of groundwater supplies and water quality to competing water demands and uses. The resource allocation problem is characterized by conflicting objectives and complex hydrologic and environmental constraints, especially in coastal aquifers. The development of mathematical simulation models provides groundwater planners with quantitative...
متن کاملPreliminary study on seawater intrusion and aquifer freshening near reclaimed coastal area of Shenzhen, China
Local groundwater in coastal aquifers in Shenzhen has experienced heavy pumping since the 1980’s when Shenzhen began to expand very quickly from a fishing village to a modern city but lacked a public water supply. Meanwhile, large-scale land reclamation was carried out to meet the needs of various urbanization projects. In this paper we analyzed groundwater from a coastal aquifer system in Shen...
